A PROBLEM SHARED IS A PROBLEM HALVED!
Small Group Tutorials
Maybe you and your friends have similar questions about how best to communicate your ideas in an academic context. You may want to practise a group presentation or gain some revision and exam practice. Perhaps you all have similar questions about plagiarism or referencing? It can also be more fun to learn with others.
If this is the case, why not book a Small Group Tutorial to discuss things with us? All you have to do is:
- Decide who will be the lead person
- Decide what day and time you would like to come for a small group tutorial
- The lead person then books the tutorial online at: www.learningdevelopment.qmul.ac.uk/writingandstudy/tutorials.
- On the booking form, there is a box with the title Further Details. In this box, the lead student should put SMALL GROUP TUTORIAL in capital letters and then enter the names, student ID numbers and QMUL e-mail addresses of the other people in the group. (If you do not have your friends' details, you can just put SMALL GROUP TUTORIAL in the box and e-mail us their details later).
Depending on the number in your group, we will then organise a room and inform you of where to go.
A Small Group Tutorial can consist of 2, 3 or 4 students. If there are 5 or more, we prefer you to split into two Small Groups. (The only exception to this is if you have been put into a specific group of 5 by your academic department).
