Sarah recently completed an AHRC-funded PhD that explored the modernist magazines Close Up (1927-1933), and Life and Letters To-day (1935-1950). Before beginning her PhD Sarah was a secondary school teacher and, throughout the course of her studies, has continued to work in education. She has worked as the Education Coordinator at The Royal Society of Literature, and as part of a Tower Hamlets’ initiative to improve the teaching of academic writing in schools. She also taught on the Modernism module at Royal Holloway.
Sarah joined Learning Development/Thinking Writing in 2016 and has worked on projects in the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, and the School of Maths. Alongside her work at Queen Mary, Sarah continues to work with KS5 teachers in schools in Tower Hamlets. Her current interests are the transition between Secondary School and University, and intersectionality in Higher Education.
